REVIEW: Strong Ratings for Tesla's AP 1

We've featured reviews outlining the difference between Tesla's Autopilot 1 and Autopilot 2. Today we are highlighting one user's experience using AP1.

This is one of the older vehicles we've ever featured - it is a 2014 Tesla Model S. The driver has taken multiple trips and most have been in and around the Philadelphia, PA area.

Here are the ratings this user gave:

How Safe I Felt: 4.5 Stars
Reliability: 4.5 Stars
Ease of Use: 5 Stars
I'd Recommend this Car to Family or Friends: 5 Stars
Overall Experience: 5 Stars

When asked about issues experienced, she responded:

After using Tesla's Autopilot suite of features (traffic aware cruise control, auto steering and auto lane change; AP1 hardware) for many of the divided highway miles on a long trip, almost no problems occurred.

As for an overview, the driver said:

My experience with AP1 hardware in a Tesla Model S (late 2014 build) is always a pleasant one with smooth and reliable operation almost all of the time and very few false positive warnings or interventions, which are easy to override by the driver when following the directions on use, which include always paying attention and having hands on the wheel.

So overall, this user has had a very positive experience. It is impressive to see such a positive Autopilot experience on a vehicle that is almost 4 years old.
